How to read a text file using cat command

Reading a text file in Linux is very simple and it will take few steps to accomplish!
I'm using a Kali Linux but don't worry, any version apart from this Kali the command can work.

  • Open your Linux Machine
  • Now Open terminal (This will be used to write a command that will perform a mentioned task)

  • On Terminal, navigate to where your file has been created. Example, I created a file on Desktop, so I will navigate to the Desktop using the following command.
  • cd /root/Desktop (This will change the current directory to Desktop)

  • Now type the following command while you are at Desktop and press enter
  • cat File (cat is a command that will read a text file named as File)

  • As you can see, now you can read any file using a cat command. Good Luck!!
Please comment and share with your friends. The next post will be on how to rename a file/directory.
Thank you for reading....!!!
